It is a Sure Thing!

Gospel: Matthew 8: 23-27

As Jesus got into a boat, his disciples followed him.
Suddenly a violent storm came up on the sea,
so that the boat was being swamped by waves;
but he was asleep.
They came and woke him, saying,
“Lord, save us! We are perishing!”
He said to them, “Why are you terrified, O you of little faith?”
Then he got up, rebuked the winds and the sea,
and there was great calm.
The men were amazed and said, “What sort of man is this,
whom even the winds and the sea obey?”

     What are we afraid of? Why are we afraid of something that God wants us to do? Why are we so fearful to face those problems and challenges in our lives?

     Most of us has a lot of fears. Everyday, we worry and we tend to be afraid of something. It seems that fear is already part of our everyday life.When problem or an obstacle pose into view or we are stuck in a difficult situation, we worry because we feel that we are losing our security.  It is not the big problems that defeat us but the scab of little thoughts and fear inside us.

     We sometimes doubt ourselves, we sometimes doubt others and this prevents us to be open, to trust, to accept and love others. We sometimes doubt God for His love and His faithfulness on us especially in times of problems and sufferings. When we are shaken by these storms of life, we tend to lose hope.
     Yes, to be afraid of something is natural and its an instinct of human. I'm not referring to the fears related to the phobias and others which are defined by psychologists rather its the fear to love and trust others and God, of course. It is the fear to let go that hinders us to trust God fully.

     Friends, doubt no more.Let us all face all these tasks around us. God alone is bigger than our fears. To trust Him is not a gamble it is a sure thing! God Bless.
