The Better Part

Gospel: Luke 10:38-42

Jesus entered a village
where a woman whose name was Martha welcomed him.
She had a sister named Mary
who sat beside the Lord at his feet listening to him speak.
Martha, burdened with much serving, came to him and said,
“Lord, do you not care
that my sister has left me by myself to do the serving?
Tell her to help me.”
The Lord said to her in reply,

“Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things.
There is need of only one thing.
Mary has chosen the better part
and it will not be taken from her.”

Dear <insert your name here>,

I know you have so many heavy responsibilities in life. I know too that you are so much troubled with the many worries life is feeding your mind. I know everything that's bothering you. Can we talk? I have so much to tell you.

Eager to listen,
God

P.S.  You need someone to talk to? You can talk to Me. It's my pleasure hearing your life's victories, dramas and everything in-between. I can even give the wisest advice if you need one. :)

Reflection
1. What are your Matha moments?
2. Will you allow God to hear these moments?
3. When was your last Mary Moment?

Prayer
Abba, thank you very much for giving me this day and everything that comes with it. Abba, please help me to be honest and open to You. Help me to acknowledge your presence in my dwellings. But most of all my Father, open my ear and heart that I may listen to You. Amen.
